Bogan-ville III: Meet the Parents

Jan 15 9:37 pm

Corey Delaney has done more for this site in two days than I’ve been able to achieve in over two months. With over 2000 hits to this site since Bogan-ville was posted, and over 1000 hits to Bogan-ville II alone, there’s no denying the widespread interest in this story. Indeed, it’s gone global now, with international media now reporting on the MySpace-500’s assault on Narre Warren. But, just to prove there’s no such thing as bad publicity, the job offers are rolling in for Corey. As NEWS.com.au reports, one events promoter wants to offer Corey a gig as a party co-ordinator.

Party promoter Tim Sabre, of Raw Entertainment, has offered 16-year-old Corey a job with his events company as a party promoter.

Mr Sabre told media outlets today that Corey had done “a great job in the wrong place” and tipped he could be successful promoting underage events.

“A promoter who can organise a party for 500 people can make anywhere from $2000 to $10,000,” he sad.

“If he can pull 500 to the street, he could easily fill up a club.”

Corey has also revealed that Melbourne FM radio station Nova is interested in bringing him on. Still no word about Big Brother yet — maybe Channel Nine’s signed him up exclusively.

Corey’s doing all he can to keep himself in the headlines, and given the hits it’s attracting to this site, I’m more than happy to oblige. Corey was down at Frankston Beach today, as his parents returned home from their abbreviated holiday to try and clean up his mess. Just as they’ve been talking to the media, so too has Corey who once again appeared on A Current Affair tonight. Thanks to YouTube contributor Mawk3, you can see his latest interview for yourself:

ACA host Leila McKinnon reckoned last night that Corey’s avoidance of speaking to his parents was only a ”short term” solution, but he’s certainly making a good fist of delaying reality as long as possible.
