Bogan-ville

Jan 14 9:14 pm

Earlier in the day, I teased the story about Corey Delaney — Narre Warren’s village idiot — and his 500-strong street party organised through MySpace. Well, tonight, Corey’s magnificent media management skills were put to the test when he appared on A Current Affair in an interview with summer host Leila McKinnon. Watch all the hilarity for yourself, courtesy of YouTube:

Coincidentally, I bought some new sunglasses over the weekend, but somehow I’m not quite as attached to them as young Corey is.

    When I saw this I wonder why people like him set themselves up to be made look like idiots by agreeing to interviews like this. The sensible thing to do would be lay low and shut up. Of course, the lure of being on TV is probably more powerful for him … any publicity is good publicity, and all that.

  2. Maddie says:

    Fuking brilliant!
    Got to love this guy!
    LOve the sunnies too..definatly famous!..sell them on Ebay for 20,000…pay back the bill or wateva it is..which is so unfair!
    Keep partying!

  3. Luke says:

    This Corey Delaney kid has been a bit of a fool, but he is just a kid, and while I wouldn’t condone his actions;

    I’d hazard a guess he’s among millions of kids worldwide who have a) held a party while their parents were away. and b) announced his party to all his friends on social networking sites such as MySpace without contemplating that he maybe doesn’t know all those “friends”.

    Regardless of the story; I feel Channel 9’s “A Current Affair” program should never have been able to interview this kid on national television when his parents aren’t even there!? He is after all, only 16-years-old, I wonder if they had appropriate consent to interview this minor!!?

    Yes - I’ve been wondering about this too. Corey’s been giving media interviews all day, and the ACA one is obviously the most visible. It seems incredible to me that his parents didn’t think to pick up the phone to a trusted family friend or ideally a lawyer and get them around there to keep him away from the media. Part of this reason the story has grabbed the headlines it has is because Corey’s been out there almost deliberately stoking the flames.

  5. mike says:

    I feel sorry for his step-father Stephen who has to endure all of this….
    Send Corey back to his biological father in China or out on the streets.

    I reckon Australia should call him Blowjob because that what he should have been.

    Ungrateful tard

  6. Mark says:

    The kid is an absolute tosser,I live in Hallam and know a family in that particular street, if I see this little sod I’ll pull over and give him a good old fashioned belting

  7. che says:

    what a tosser
    if hes cool then i don’t know what i am

  8. Terry says:

    How do you access Corey’s myspace page. Whilst alot of the media networks have been going bananas about the party etc etc none of these media outlets that have a website have actually posted a link to his Myspace or is it Facebook page. I’m not a supporter or detractor of Corey or whatever his name is who reminds me a bit of the Tom Cruise character in Risky Business. Can someone please post a link to his page so I can check it out for myself - instead of relying on “journalists” telling me what is on his site.

    There has been a lot of hype about this story, maybe because it is a quiet news week and some people in the media and sadly police and status junkies like Teen psychologists who should know better are banging this story for all it is worth which isn’t really much. The story appears to me more about the spin doctors, “experts” and “Journalists” or whatever they are called this week getting their designer beaks on the telly, their bleating voices on radio, or their feeble text in the paper.

    No wonder why many people are so angry, sceptical and cynical when it comes to the mainstream media because it generally is obsessed with mindless celebrity, sport and trivia instead of reporting real news which probably involves a bit of work and credibility which are qualities that most mainstream “journalists” lack in spades.Do you believe what is printed in the Herald Sun? I don’t.

    I can’t believe that I have wasted whatever time I have spent typing this message but what has motivated me to do this is the appalling way the media has covered this story and how people with vested interests have tagged along for the ride. The result - no doubt other teenage punters will try get more than 500 to a party and cause more mayhem because such an event gets publicity, street cred and recognition from a community that would otherwise ignore them. How tragic is that?

  9. Leon says:

    If you ever needed a reason to legalize abortion, just look at this little punk. And you know the worst thing? He’s going to become a celebrity over this. Other kids are gonna try this and others are gonna scramble over each other to become his friend.

  10. Kate says:

    That has to be the worst example of journalism I’ve ever seen.
    The kid may be a moron, but the interviewer is stilted, boring and completely taken aback by him. That simply shouldn’t happen!

  11. Nick says:

    Kate, it is A Current Affair - it hasn’t exhibited anything resembling good journalism for over a decade!

  12. Hennessy says:

    ACA = gay

    Corey = gay

    all you other dicks = ULTRA gay

  13. Kaityyy says:

    Coreys superrr hott :)

  14. scotty says:

    mate, if he is hot i have definately missed something. i am 17. he makes me and my mates look bad. if he was on fire i woud only put him out with a tyre iron… good lord i hope he gets cancer. oh and p.s where we come from we don’t need to be a douche to have a good party we just need good mates around.

  15. Unknown says:
